Sky High is pleased to announce that we are official Sponsors of the Yukon Quest 2011 dog sled race!. This year the race starts in Whitehorse and we will all be there cheering on the mushers as they begin this 1000 mile race of endurance and skill.

This summer saw the construction of a new holding corral with a shelter to shade from the sun and rain complete with a water trough. This corral comes in handy when we want to separate horses, when some are going for rides etc. It is so popular that even when the gate is open the horses are often under the shelter napping.

All the hay is in the barns for the winter - 24 cords of wood split and stacked at the cabins, feed shed, sauna and lodge. There has been snow for the past month on and off since early September. It has formed a nice base for our tours and the guides are now training dogs with the sleds.

This spring we celebrated the birth of a new baby- Cricket! Golden Girl has done it again and produced the sweetest addition to our herd. Brat has a new baby sister. She is as playful as a kitten and actually thinks she is one - she loves to show her affection and expects to get some back in return. She doesn't really like her new halter so when I put it on for a few hours she follows me around and tries to get me to take it off.

She likes to play tag with Rooster, Clare and Reba, biting them and running so they will chase her. They have become quite good buddies and we often see them together grooming or vying for a guest's attention. Brat is always on the sideline standing around and waiting for everyone to get over his cute little sister and notice him. Often you turn around and there he is sniffing you.
