WHAT WE DO
Sky High Wilderness Ranch offers visitors the "Adventure of a lifetime". Whether it be dog sledding, a horseback adventure, or experiencing the "off-grid" lifestyle with one of our cabin and lodge stay packages, our wide range of thrilling adventures will satisfy even the most daring spirit.
Between our Sled dog family and our horse family, there is always something to do for the animal lovers of your group. We are located on the shores of spectacular Fish Lake, only 30 minutes from Whitehorse, so there is ample opportunity for hiking, fishing, canoeing, kayaking and more!
ETHICAL MUSHING
We love our animals! So we make it a priority to ensure the well-being and happiness of all our dogs and horses. Read more about our kennels and stables here.
TRUE WILDERNESS
At Sky High everyone drives their own team of huskies and we follow rugged trails by dog sled or horseback to reach outstanding landscapes. We live the 'off-grid' lifestyle of a true Yukoner and venture deep into the North's back country to our wall tent camps.
LEAVE NO TRACE
Sky High is located in Yukon's pristine wilderness, and we want to keep it that way. Proper awareness, appreciation and respect for our local flora and fauna is fundamental to oru off-grid way of life, and we continually strive to maintain minimal environmental impact.
EXPERIENCED GUIDES
All of our staff are passionate about the Yukon outdoors and we have a tight-knit team of experienced back country guides. All our staff are First Aid certified and carry InReach devices on all tours to ensure the safety of all guests even in the most remote of locations.
About
Sky High Wilderness Ranch has been offering visitors the "Adventure of a lifetime" for over 40 years. It was founded by Sylvia and Ian McDougall and has over the years grown into a well known and respected adventure tourism business. We offer dog sled and Horse back adventures as well as cabin and lodge stay packages. Between our sled dogs and horses, there is always something to do for the animal lovers of your group. We are located on the shores of Fish Lake only 30 min from Whitehorse and our wide range of adventures will satisfy even the most adventurous spirit.
The Kwanlin Dün First Nation history in our area dates back centuries and we share respect for their culture and values when using their land for our tours. Most of our tours involve some sort of camping: winter and summer. Our smaller group sizes ensure that we stay true to our belief in the "leave no trace" philosophy. All human and animal waste is carried out regularly and camps are moved often to ensure our wilderness stays pristine.
