DAY 1

Saturday

At 10am we pick you up from your hotel in Whitehorse and take the Sky High Van to our Ranch. On the way we pass McIntyre Marsh - a wetland that is home to many Yukon birds. As we climb in elevation the landscapes are breathtaking! Arrive at Sky High Wilderness Ranch and meet your guide. After a light home-cooked lunch and short safety intro, hit the trails with a some of our lovable huskies. Enjoy the smell and sounds of Fish Lake Valley and watch the dogs splash in the clear waters of Fish Creek - maybe brave a dip yourself! This creek comes from Fish Lake and, in early Summer, Lake trout can be seen swimming at the inlet. Share some treats with the huskies as they roll and romp in the soft green grasses of the valley. Return to the delicious aroma of your dinner cooking in the lodge. Finish the evening with a gravity fed shower or wood heated sauna. (Lunch, Dinner).

Enjoy the brunch and be introduced to your 4 legged companions!

DAY 2

Sunday

Today our hike will take us above tree line to the top of Mt McIntyre. Enjoy watching the energy of the huskies as they climb effortlessly playing with each other as they run through the summer sunshine. Picnic with the huskies at the top and take in the landscapes that surround you. Depending on time of year there are cranberries, blueberries and sage growing on this mountain side and we will gather berries for a fresh berry dessert or sage for a chicken dinner in the Lodge. After dinner, relax by the fire pit with hot drinks, and recount your day’s adventure with your group. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

4-5 HOURS HIKING

DAY 3

Monday

Watch the morning skies turn a soft pink as the sun rises on your next adventure. Today we hike the Bonneville Lake Ridge. Walk in the morning splendour along the shores of Fish Lake with our four-legged friends, stopping at the inlet of Fish Creek to look for Lake Trout. Slowly begin the climb up a path that becomes a winding myriad of smaller trails leading up the mountain ridge. We are on Kwanlin Dunn First Nation Land - the KDFN, as well as Yukon wildlife, have used these trails for centuries. This area is a photographer’s paradise with many photo opportunities of Yukon's beautiful flora and fauna. Once atop the ridge, take a few moments to break, snack and play with the dogs. Breathe the pure mountain air before starting down toward Bonneville Lakes for a picnic lunch. With your guide and group choose the direction of your afternoon adventure and head down the trail. After a warm dinner, enjoy the long evening on our wrap-around deck. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

4-6 HOURS HIKING

DAY 4

Tuesday

Over breakfast your guide will give you the details of your next challenge. Today we hike to the Fish Lake Plateau, where views are some of the finest the Yukon has to offer. We start out along the Lake through treed trails along a traditional working trap line trail (approx 5km) and then climb to the plateau. The Plateau overlooks the south end of Fish Lake on one side and the ibex valley on the other. Head back to town in later afternoon for last night in Whitehorse (Breakfast, Lunch).

Have fun on your last day with the Dogs!

Sky High Wilderness Ranch is a true Yukon experience! This “off the grid” lifestyle ranch is serviced by quaint outhouses, has limited cell service, no WiFi and water is hauled up from downtown. Our buildings are warmed by a wood stove, making for a cozy stay, we have gravity fed showers and our lights & appliances are all powered by propane (no electricity). We also have a wood-heated sauna!

Itinerary can change depending on weather conditions, group dynamic, and safety reasons.
